New pages for pre-challenge

I am not a scrapper who uses sketches. Usually I put photos and paper and embellies together in a ring and let them fight it out. So this challenge made me step out of my box, and I learned a thing or two. If I'm making multiple pages, like in a Layout Swap, then sketches can really help the creative process and the time spent on pages. I always said it took four times as much time to think of what I was going to do, than it did to actually do the project. Sketches balance that time a little better. They can also help give cohesion to a multiple page layout, in that the page has the same look, but with different paper, photos and embellies.
Thanks, Heidi!

New Game in Town

There's a new survivor game, and we have our first pre-challenge. I don't have pics of any new items and pages I've made so far, but I can offer up a few photos of what I made in the first survivor game. These are from a layout I did of my son's first cars. The first shows him taking very good care of his "Flintstone" car. He loved to wash his car (takes after his daddy). He then graduated to driving my van for his permit and practice. When he got his license, he had a Chevy Cavalier for a short time, and just recently bought his very first NEW car. It's a Mitsubishi Lancer, and he loves it as much as his pre-school car (maybe more), but doesn't wash it as often.

BTW, the team I'm on is the Damsels in Distressed.

Busy as a Bee

I have been busy this past month. I have taken great strides in my organizing my craft room. Between new storage furniture (either free or rummage sale), I have really "cleaned up". My room looks neater, and I can find things faster. Even my desk is cleaned off and organized!

As far as scrapping goes, I have made 55 12x12 pages, and organized my photos better. Thanks to Melissa and her Scrapbooking Survivor Game!

As far as card supplies, I have organized my homemade cards into groups like birthday, get well, sympathy, etc.. I have a nice supply, but could do with more.

Finally, I'm going to a scrapping weekend retreat in November, and plan to bring all my Christmas photos, papers, embellies and so on for a major crop session.

2007 Goals

Well, this is a start--a miniscule one, but a start. I want to show off my work, explain some techniques, vent about problems that come up with my scrapbooking pages, etc.

My goals for 2007 include:

organizing my scrap space, organizing my printed photos, buying a new digital camera, and scrapping, of course.

I would like to have all the Christmas pics throughout the years scrapped by the end of the year.

I want to work on my son's photos and pages, and slow down on my daughter's pages.

I want to make a This is Your Daddy scrapbook for his new daughter, if I'm to be a grandma this year.

I want to be prepared for any event with a choice of cards.

I want to teach classes at a scrapbooking store.

This is the Year of the Scrapbook.
